The 79th session of American Legion Auxiliary Volunteer Girls State will be held at Lipscomb University from Sunday, May 25 through Saturday, May 31, 2025! This is a program of the American Legion Auxiliary for rising senior girls from across the state of Tennessee.
Arrival and Departure from Lipscomb University:
When you arrive at Lipscomb University on May 25, 2025 between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. CST, please make your way to Bennett Campus Center (entrance on Granny White Pike). It is important that you do not unload your belongings upon arrival. Dorm assignments will be made once you check in, and you will be directed to move your car to the closest dorm location to unload.
For pickup on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. CST, please meet your delegate at their assigned dorm where you dropped them off. For Fanning dorm, enter off Belmont Boulevard. For Elam and High Rise dorms, enter off Granny White Pike. View the campus map here.

Samsung Scholarship:
In coordination with the Samsung Corporation, the American Legion and Auxiliary hosts an annual scholarship program for Girls and Boys Staters. ALA VGS will nominate one Girls State delegate who will receive a state finalist scholarship and go on to compete regionally for larger scholarships. Please note that applications must be completed and submitted electronically before midnight on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Learn more here.
