A look back at previous years of ALA Volunteer Girls State
Girls State has a great history in Tennessee. The first VGS was held at Bethany Hills near Nashville in 1947. Girls State moved to MTSU in 1955, where it was held from 1955 to 2009. The 2010 session was held at Lipscomb University in Nashville. A charter of incorporation was granted Volunteer Girls State, Inc., June 5, 1952, and renewed in 1994. The staff and counselors all are past VGS delegates.
