Citizens cast their ballots for county officials. The Johnson County Commissioners were sworn in. Maddux County Commissioners posed after their oath of office.

Governor Bill Haslam and his wife, Crissy Haslam, greeted citizens of Girls State. Martha Kelly presided over the Tuesday morning assembly. Hannah Parker, who works as Assistant for Special Projects in Governor Haslam's office, introduced him.

Governor Haslam addressed the citizens of Girls State. The citizens listened attentively to the Governor. The Governor received applause from the stage.

Citizens got a chance to ask a question. The First Lady also answered questions from Girls State citizens. The ALA VGS chorus sang "Tennessee" for the Governor and First Lady.

The escorts were ready to bring Sue Cantrell to the stage. Sue Cantrell, the Tennesse American Legion Auxiliary President, welcomed the citizens to Girls State. Mollie Brummett talked about being present with others.

Allison Jarrett introduced the county mayors. The 2011 county mayors were recognized on the stage. They were all dressed up for the Governor, but that didn't stop Smith from practicing their Fast Song moves.
